AI will be at the heart of an improved development experience in the future, with more developers turning to AI for a faster time-to-market. The majority even predict that AI could eventually replace the actual development experience in the near future.
The drive towards AI in the development process supports earlier findings that indicate more AI functions across all consumer devices. Therefore, the role of AI in future applications to enable these new AI-based consumer tech experiences will be hugely important.
The survey shows that Arm development tools continue to deliver what developers need to improve the development process and the performance of their applications.
The virtual representation of SoCs to test and build complimentary hardware or software – a core feature of Arm’s development tools – brings the most commercial impact to companies in terms of accelerating time-to-market and expanding markets. In the world of Android game development, Arm Mobile Studio is the preferred toolset for improving performance. Here's what the survey revealed:
The AI Influence
Around 64 percent of respondents predict that between 50 to 100 percent of their development process will shift to AI in five years’ time.
32 percent of respondents believe that the most important advantage of shifting development tasks to AI is the fact it will eventually replace the actual development experience. This is followed by AI being better for repetitive tasks (27 percent), such as QA and bug fixing.
